My name is Kenetha Harrington, and I'm the author behind the book, The World of Marie Laveau. I'm a historical anthropologist/archaeologist. I study the history and culture of African Americans, with a special interest in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

I consider this book both an academic and public history project. My hope is that it speaks to scholars and general readers, and those interested in Marie Laveau, New Orleans history, New Orleans Voudou, free women of color, and archaeology.
